The three differences that matter
Your calendar stays exactly as you left it
Motion writes your tasks into Google or Outlook, so they show up as events for anyone who can see your calendar. YWGSD reads your calendars and plans around them, and writes nothing back. Nothing of ours ever appears on your work calendar.

A thought can wait without being a task
In Motion, a new task goes straight into the schedule, which means deciding how long it’ll take at the moment it occurs to you. YWGSD has an Inbox that asks for nothing, and a once-over later that turns the whole pile into scheduled work in a couple of minutes.

You can take the refund yourself
Motion’s terms say purchases are non-refundable and refunds are at their discretion. YWGSD emails you 3 days before the first charge, cancelling is one click, and for 7 days after that first payment there’s a button in Settings that sends your money back without asking anyone.
Where Motion is better
Written plainly, because you’re going to find out anyway.
- planning work across a team: shared projects, capacity planning, permissions
- Gantt charts and time tracking, on their Business plan
- AI you can talk to, AI docs and a meeting notetaker
- Android, and native desktop apps
- splitting a long task into chunks automatically
What Motion’s customers say
On Trustpilot, Motion has 3.7 out of 5 from 578 reviews, as of 22 September 2026. More than half are five stars. Of the one-star reviews we read, most were about the same thing: being charged for a full year when a trial ended, and not getting it back. That’s why the billing promise exists.
On price
On what both sites listed on 22 September 2026, YWGSD costs less than every Motion plan: $16 a month billed yearly against Motion’s lowest of $19, and $24 month to month against their lowest of $29. With no AI credits on top.
That’s not the reason to pick it, though. Motion does a great deal more. If you don’t need the more, you’re not paying for it.
Switching takes about ten minutes
- 1
Connect your calendars
Google, Outlook and iCloud. We read them so work lands around your meetings, and we never write to them.
- 2
Say when you work
One set of hours to start with. Add more later if the evenings belong to something else.
- 3
Type your list into the Inbox
One line, Enter, next — the field keeps focus, so a whole list goes in as fast as you can type it. No lengths or deadlines yet.
- 4
Give it the once-over
How long, how important, and it’s scheduled. Keep Motion running alongside for a week if you like; nothing here writes to your calendar, so the two can’t fight.
The four rules behind itCompared with the others
Let your week plan itself.
14 days free. We email you before we charge, and you can cancel in one click.
