Motion alternatives

Six tools that do some part of what Motion does, what each costs, and who each one is actually for. We make one of them, and we’ve said plainly where the others win.

Every price and policy read on the maker’s own site on 22 September 2026. Sources are on each comparison page.

Why people go looking

It’s priced for a team, per seat

$19 to $69 per seat a month depending on the plan, the billing period and which track you’re on, with AI credits metered on top. If it’s only ever you, most of that is capacity you’re not using.

Everything is AI now

Chat, docs, a meeting notetaker, credits that don’t carry over. Some people want exactly that. Others want a scheduler that behaves the same way twice.

The billing caught someone out

On Trustpilot, Motion sits at 3.7 out of 5 from 578 reviews as of 22 September 2026. Most one-star reviews we read say the same thing: a year charged when a trial ended, and their terms say purchases are non-refundable.

It writes into your work calendar

Motion puts your tasks into Google or Outlook as events. Handy, until your colleagues can see every block of your day.

None of that makes Motion a bad tool. For a team planning work together it’s still the strongest thing here — our comparison with it says so too.

Five questions to ask each one

Does it plan for you, or help you plan?
Auto-schedulers (YWGSD, Reclaim, SkedPal, FlowSavvy) place the work themselves. Sunsama and Akiflow hand you the blocks and let you place them — which is the point, for some people.
What does it do to your calendar?
Some write their blocks into Google or Outlook, where everyone at work can see them. Some make a calendar of their own. YWGSD writes nothing at all.
What happens to work you didn’t finish?
This is where they differ most: rescheduled, rolled over as a list, archived after a few days, or assumed done. Ask before you trust it with a deadline.
Can you get your money back?
Most of this category says purchases are non-refundable. Reclaim refunds a cancelled annual plan pro rata within 30 days, FlowSavvy refunds 30 days, YWGSD refunds your first payment for 7 days from a button in Settings.
Which devices, really?
Several are desktop-first, and a couple need a desktop before their phone app works at all. If you plan on a phone, check that first.

The six, and who each is for

  • YWGSD

    $24 a month, or $192 a year

Best for one person with more than one thing going on, who wants the planning done and their calendar left alone.

Tasks get real blocks around your meetings, inside hours you set. Nothing you didn’t finish disappears — it moves to your next opening and turns amber once its deadline has gone. No AI, no seats, no credits. Reads Google, Outlook and iCloud, writes to none of them. Web today, iPhone app waiting on the App Store, no Android.

  • Reclaim

Free plan; $10 per seat a month billed yearly

Best for teams who want smart meetings and booking links, and anyone who needs a free plan.

The closest thing to Motion on this list: habits, smart meetings, booking links, SSO. It writes blocks to your primary calendar, has no native mobile app, and when a task’s time passes it assumes the work was done unless you turn auto-reopen on.

    YWGSD vs Reclaim

  • Sunsama

$17 per user a month billed yearly

Best for people who want the ritual itself, on every platform including Android and desktop.

A guided morning ritual rather than an auto-scheduler, and lovely if that’s what you want. Native apps everywhere including Android, 20-plus integrations. Tasks that roll over several days get archived, and all purchases are final.

    YWGSD vs Sunsama

  • Akiflow

    $19 a month billed yearly

Best for people whose tasks arrive in Slack, Gmail, Notion and Jira and need to land in one place.

The best inbox for tasks arriving from Slack, Gmail, Notion and Jira. You time-block them yourself: their own help says the Schedule Optimizer doesn’t run automatically and doesn’t work on mobile. No iCloud yet.

    YWGSD vs Akiflow

  • SkedPal

    $9.95 a month billed yearly

Best for people who want to model their time in detail, and who plan at a desk.

The most detailed planning model here — time maps, budgets, dependencies — and the cheapest of the paid ones. Sign-up and a guided tour have to happen on a desktop, and it plans 21 days ahead on Core, 60 on Pro.

    YWGSD vs SkedPal

  • FlowSavvy

Free plan; $10 a month billed yearly

Best for anyone who wants auto-scheduling for free, or on Android.

Auto-scheduling for one person, with a genuinely free plan, an Android app and 30-day refunds. It says it will never touch your events. Missed tasks need a recalculate, and repeating tasks are skipped and deleted once their deadline passes.
